Survivor To Warrior

Lisa Cybaniak is an incredible woman with one hell of a story. Lisa is a survivor of 10 years of child abuse, but she wont let that stop her.  Her mission is to help as many people as she can. She is a Success Coach, a Motivational Speaker, Blogger and the founder of lifelikeyoumeanit.com. Through sharing her story and breaking her silence on abuse, she is on a mission to shed the stigma of being abused. She is dedicated to empowering survivors of abuse to find their purpose in order to build the life they deserve. From survivor to warrior.

Lisa's Story
Lisa grew up in an abusive home where she was physically, psychologically, and sexually abused by her now ex-step father for 10 years. She turned the most positive experiences into negativity because that was comfortable for her mind after being told what she had by her ex-step father, she was believing his lies.

In her early twenties, she finally began to see the pattern in the mistakes, she was apparently determined to repeat, over and over again. Her choice in men was less than exceptional, for example. She kept choosing men who were not ready, willing or able to love and commit to her. For a long time she blamed herself, thinking that she was attracting them to her because she deserved that treatment. Then it hit her - She didn’t believe she deserved better, so she wasn’t allowing herself any better. She realised that the very act of shielding herself from failure was infact failure - a failure to believe in herself, not just her abilities and worth, but in her ability to handle rejection or loss.

Her Successes and Work
Changing those patterns and her mindset was a challenge as we all can understand but she did it! She taught herself just how useful, worthy, and lovable she really is. She fell in love with herself– with her strength and the beauty that lay within, which is the greatest love story out there. Being positive became her new comfort zone.

Survivor To Warrior Coaching Program

Stratford Butterfly Farm

Rain or shine, you can visit this truly beautiful place. With butterflies, fish, reptiles, birds, beatles and so much more, in an exotic environment of tropical blossom with splashing waterfalls and busy pools, it is a place you definitely have to visit and it is my new favourite place.

The butterfly farm has 3 areas. Discover the link that Stratford Butterfly Farm has to the Rainforests of Belize and the ancient Maya civilisation whose artefacts have been replicated and are now on display in the flight area.

In the discovery zone, find out about the plants they grow at the butterfly farm and see some of the world's largest and most camouflaged caterpillars on show with cocoons, giant silk moths and shining pupae hanging on the plants. See the amazing lifecycle of a butterfly within our Emerging Cage where you will find butterflies hatching from their chrysalis.

Observe the fascinating and strange in Mini Beast Metropolis where stick insects, beetles, leafcutter ants, some of the worlds largest tarantula spiders and many more remarkable creatures are to be found.

The best part about this place? It is accessable for all! All displays in the butterfly farm are fully accessible. There are 3 disabled car parking spaces on site, which are strictly reserved for blue badge holders. All other parking, including more disabled spaces, is in the pay and display car park opposite the gates. Guide dogs are welcome, however they cannot enter the flight area due to it being an unsuitable environment for them.

I would love to visit Stratford Butterfly Farm once more, I genuinely think it is my favourite place now, there is so much to see and do and it is so beautiful and well set out. I would actually recommend it to anyone, the 1 hour 40 minute drive was so worth it and I hope I get to do it again at some point in the near future.

Macdonald Alveston Manor in Stratford-Upon-Avon

Located in the historic town of Stratford-upon-avon, the Macdonald Alveston Manor Hotel is a little bit of luxury for everyone to enjoy. With a traditional tudor look it fits in well with the town itself. It is one of the finest 4 star hotels in Warwickshire, offering great luxury accommodation in one of the most beautiful and historic parts of England (at least this is what I discovered anyway!)

With many things to do for all ages within walking distance of the hotel, it is in the perfect spot. It is the ideal base for Shakespeare enthusiasts with the Shakespeare Houses and Royal Shakespeare Theatre both within close proximity.

The hotel is a perfect venue for leisure breaks, romantic weekends, business meetings, weddings and special occasions. They have excellent accommodation, meeting rooms, event suites, stunning gardens, a great restaurant, bar and a luxurious spa.

With 113 well appointed bedrooms with everything you could need, it would be silly not to. Complimentary water, tea, coffee and shower products, an iron, hair dryer, kettle, coffee machine and so much more.

Only a 5 minute walk from the town centre it is a perfect location for an evening walk or a visit to their on site award winning restaurant. You'll experience fine dining in a warm and traditional setting with attentive and friendly waitress service. The Manor Restaurant is perfect for any occasion, boasting original features including beautiful oak beams and mullioned windows.

The food in the restaurant was lovely, so beautifully presented and tasty. But the pudding, the pudding was completely something else, I could have ate it over and over.

Breakfast is also offered in the hotel which is also incredible. Need to catch up on work in your room? Fancy a lie in? No problem. Have breakfast in bed for only a £5 tray charge. It is 100% worth it.

The Benefits Of Being Shy

Before I start, I just wanted to mention that this post is sponsored by Elysia Allsopp at https://www.allsoppcreations.com/ who creates the most beautiful pieces of art and takes incredible photographs. Also an introvert, she has a mindful series of art that I recommend you check out! More information will be at the end of the post so be sure to check it out! Now on to the post.

Everyday shyness that does not prevent you from achieving your goals or participating in life can have its benefits. You may be thinking, how could there possibly be a benefit to being shy and reserved? But trust me, once you read this you will soon realise that there are infact a few benefits to being shy.

One main benefits of being shy is that you generally have deeper and long-lasting friendships due to being more reserved and finding it harder to talk to more people and make friends. We shine in small circles. Since making friends is not easy, you place more value on the friends that you have and your tendency to avoid small talk means that your friendships are not likely to be superficial. You have less friends but more best friends who you are extremely comfortable being with and around and you are able to open up to them.

We all know people who have more drama in their lives than Eastenders, right? Well, being shy, you dont have to worry about drama as much. Less friends means less drama. But if you're forced to be surrounded by people you are not comfortable with, you get to hear all of the gossip because you're quiet. People tend to gossip with you around as if you're not there so you get to know the ins and outs of other peoples lives.

Being shy, you may not be a good talker but you sure are a good listener. Since you are not the first to tell everyone's secrets or brag about your accomplishments, to others you appear more trustworthy. You may appear as though you have nothing to say but the fact of the matter is that there are hundreds of words wanting to come out but it just takes some time for the best ones to come out. Just because I dont always have something to say, it doesnt mean I dont care. I care a great deal.

We all spend years trying to get to know ourselves fully, but being shy enables you to get to know yourself really well and much faster. You spend so much time in your own company that you know the real you, your moods, situations you work well in, your limit and your likes and dislikes.

It seems as though shy people are more creative than the outgoing and loud people. Finding other ways to express yourself through creativity without words is often helpful for the shy people in this world. Reading, drawing, writing and so many more different creative activities are what shy people thrive in, but outgoing people too!

You are the one who spends the most time with yourself, but who else knows the real you? Being shy means that you might not show your true self to just anybody. Only people you know very well and who you trust know the real you.

See, I told you there was a few benefits of being shy! But being shy, the one thing you always wish for? More confidence.

Elysia Allsopp is also a fellow blogger over on https://theshipmightsink.com/ where she blogs about all things art, travel and so much more. Elysia has an online shop on Etsy where she sells some of her incredible work. You can find it here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/allsoppcreations be sure to check it out and make a purchase! The beautiful piece below is something you can find on there.

My 5 Favourite iPhone Apps

I think we all have many, many apps on our phones but what are your top 5 that you love to use? Here are mine!

My favourite app you ask? Twitter. Since I got it in 2009, it always has been. Twitter is where I have found the majority of my friends, where I talk to and tweet my favourite celebrities and where I share my blog.

Facetime obviously has to be one of my favourites because it connects me to my favourite people. You really dont appreciate the app enough until you are missing someone badly.

I only recently started using Timehop and I am so glad that I did. All my friends have been using it for a few years now, so I am not sure why it took me so long to join! But I love looking back at memories so much.

I love this app purely because it helps me keep track of my life. It allows me to put all of my upcoming events into it with a countdown to each one, so it helps me with things to look forward too as well!

Come on, everyone loves a scroll down their Insta feed right? Admit it, we all do. I have way too many Instagram accounts and I shamelessly stalk people but thats the fun of it.
