BLOGMAS DAY 15: What I Love About Christmas

Hello! Welcome to my blog if you're new and welcome back if you're returning! I have decided that I am going to do 'Blogmas' this year where I will be posting every day from the 1st of December until the 24th of December, so come back every day for a new post!

Christmas is without a doubt, one of my favourite times of year (after shrovetide of course!) Christmas is a time of giving, sharing and spreading love. Since I was I child, I anxiously await the 25th of December because there is so much that I love about this holiday. This Christmas, I have decided to share a list of things that I enjoy the most about Christmas.

I think Christmas is such a magical holiday with everything that goes on which is why I love it so much. Like how adorable is it hearing little children talking about santa, what they want for christmas from santa and what santa does. It just feels so magical, especially with all of the lights.

December is such a pretty time of year: all the Christmas lights on houses, in the streets and on the trees, if it snows, the snowflakes ect. Everything is so colourful and jolly. All the shops have bright lights and fun decorations. Homes have Christmas trees lighting up the windows. For someone who loves taking photographs, its amazing, trust me. There is normally a lot of Christmas events on too which are always fun to go to like the Christmas markets and the Christmas light switch on events all over the country- I have been to 2 Christmas light switch on events this year which were amazing and really got me a lot more excited for Christmas, even though I only actually went to see Lucy Spraggan. These events gave me the opportunity to use my camera too, so I will leave a few photographs below.

To me, when I think about Christmas, I think about the massive roast dinner we will most definitely be eating on Christmas day at my nans, where we stuff ourselves full of turkey and many, many veggies. This is certainly one of my favourite things about Christmas because nans cooking is just so good, I love it! I also love it because it is the one time a year where all of us in the family get to all go around one table and eat together without missing someone, and spend a bit of time together, which leads me onto my next point.

Christmas day is one of the only days that everyone in my family is off work so it is a great opportunity to spend some time with my family, watch films together, play games and just have fun in each others company, as if it was any other day, you can guarantee that at least one person will be at work. Nothing honestly beats spending quality time with your family and friends. The conversations are always entertaining on Christmas day, especially if people have had a drink. You create more memories as you reminisce on some old ones.

Although I dont really like watching movies because I get bored so easily, at Christmas, I enjoy wrapping up on the sofa with blankets, a hot drink and watching a good Christmas movie with my family. My all time favourite Christmas movie is Home Alone, followed closely behind by Elf.

Even the slight possibility of snow at all gets me excited and the mix of snow and Christmas is just amazing. I'd love nothing more than a white Christmas day this year but there is very little chance of that happening lets be honest. I am such a kid when the snow comes, I'll be out in the snow for hours making snow men and taking pictures, I just love it.

Its nearly Christmas!
