BLOGMAS DAY 1: Favourite Christmas Songs

Hello! Welcome to my blog if you're new and welcome back if you're returning! I have decided that I am going to do 'Blogmas' this year where I will be posting every day from the 1st of December until the 24th of December, so come back every day for a new post!

I am kicking off my first Blogmas with my favourite topic: music. There are so many great christmas songs out there but I am going to tell you my personal top 10.

1. Drink Til We Go Home by Lucy Spraggan.
We all know that she is one of my favourite people on the whole planet but there is no denying how good this song is. It is so upbeat with such a good rhythm that you cant help but move when you're listening to it. The lyrics are catchy and easy to pick up, especially the chorus. 10/10 would recommend a listen. (the video came out today but the song will be released on the 15th of December so go and pre-order it now).

2. Mistletoe by Justin Bieber
Mistletoe is such a bop even all these years later. The gentle acoustic strumming sounds cozy and soft which makes it so much better with the addition of the bells. Even if you dont like Justin Bieber, you cant deny that this is an amazing song to get you feeling festive.

3. My Sad Christmas Song by Miley Cyrus
I love this song because unlike the other christmas songs, it shows the other side of christmas, for the minority who experience the lonliness at this time of year. Although it is a rather emotional song, I love it and most definitely play it at christmas.

4. All I Want For Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey
I dont think this needs explaining, surely everyone loves this song?

5. Underneath The Tree by Kelly Clarkson
Not everyone can make a new Christmas song an instant classic, but I guess that not everyone is Kelly Clarkson. Her voice is absolutely beautiful and it is such a catchy song that you cant help but love it.

6. Santa Tell Me by Ariana Grande
Ariana Grande's powerful vocals are what truly makes this song. The lyrics are about boys which arent the most festive lyrics but she does basically ask santa for someone who will be good for her.

7. Drummer Boy by Justin Bieber
Drummer Boy combines the christmas classic with Justin Bieber rapping about the festive period and a Busta Rhymes verse that ends with "Happy Hanukkah!" It is certainly strange when you compare it to the classic but isnt it just a good song.

8. Winter Wonderland by Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett
This unlikely pair interpret classic the christmas song and absolutely smash it.

9. It Doesnt Feel Like Christmas by Lucy Spraggan
This is a very realistic but emotional story which she has cleverly made a magical song out of about christmas and missing someone who once loved you.

10. One More Sleep by Leona Lewis
This is such a beautiful christmas song about getting to see someone again during the christmas period, someone coming home for christmas despite the circumstances, which I think many people can relate to and shows why its so popular.

Let me know some of yours in the comments below or tweet me!

  1. I've never heard any of these songs, but I might have to give them a listen! The traditional Christmas songs are always the ones I prefer, but it'd be nice to give something new a try for a change!

  2. There are a few hear I haven't heard, I'll have to look them up! My favorite Christmas songs are "Marshmallow World", several people have covered it but my favorite is the 1963 version by Darlene Love, and "Dominick the Donkey" it's just very fun. I also love "I want a hippopotamus for Christmas" but I don't hear that one very often.

  3. Check out Pentatonix - Winter Wonderland ft. Tori Kelly, such a bop and a little Bob Marley spin on there too!
